Stan Mathis is an attending psychiatrist on the STEP team. He completed his medical school and training at the University of Arkansas before coming to Yale for a fellowship in public psychiatry.
Stan is recovery- and person-oriented, collaborating with patients toward their goals. He also believes that understanding the social, economic, and environmental contexts surrounding patients is often just as critical as choosing which medication to prescribe.
